Methodist Early Learning

Methodist Early Learning was established in 1966. The preschool operates out of First United Methodist Church and is managed by an ecumenical Board of Directors. All teachers and caregivers are fully trained to provide a loving, stimulating environment for the children in their care.

Methodist Early Learning (MEL) is a non-sectarian, not for profit program. It is operated by a Board of Directors which includes members from inside and outside of the church.

We offer classes in three age levels. All classes meet from 9:00 AM to 12:00PM. Snack and gym time are offered daily. Our goal is to provide experiences to help your child grow academically, socially, and physically in a nurturing Christian environment.

Please enroll promptly if you are interested. Slots fill quickly and enrollment is limited.

Mother’s Morning Out

This program is for toddlers whose age is 2 years old by August 1st of the school year.

Activities include circle time, stories, music, gym & art and crafts.

CLASS OPTIONS:

  • 2 day (Tuesday, Thursday)

  • 3 day (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Methodist Play & Learn (MPL)

This class is for children who will be three (3) years of age by August 1 of the year the child will attend the program.

Activities are planned daily to enhance children’s self-esteem and instill a love of learning, including dramatic play, stories, art, music and trips to the library.

CLASS OPTIONS:

  • 3 day (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

  • Optional afternoons on Wednesday

Methodist Pre-Kindergarten

This program is for children who will be 4 years old by August 1st. This class meets Monday through Friday and is designed to prepare children for academic success in a Christian environment.

Activities include circle time, music, bible stories, science experiments, cooking, math, and phonics. Several field trips are also planned throughout the year.

Chapel occurs weekly in MPK and is led by volunteer church members and FUMC pastors. Each week we learn about the Bible and Christian stories and values.

CLASS OPTIONS:

  • Optional: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons

  • Early care available at 7:45 a.m.

EXTENDED CARE

Additional morning care is available from 7:45 – 9:00 Monday thru Friday.
